Two upper upscale Clarion hotels in Stockholm, Sweden are available for 10,000 Choice Privileges points per reward night.
Combine these cheap hotel deals in Stockholm with cheap flights to Stockholm Arlanda Airport ARN, generally the lowest priced airline destination in Europe from many USA cities, makes Sweden a budget traveler’s dream. A cheap hotel on points is one travel bargain in Stockholm. You will pay a higher price for most everything else compared to U.S. prices once you find yourself a tourist in Scandinavia.
Clarion Hotel Sign easy to reach from Arlanda
Travelers unfamiliar with Stockholm will likely find Clarion Hotel Sign Stockholm the better hotel location for a stay. Clarion Hotel Sign is only a five minute walk of 300 meters from the Arlanda Express train accessible directly from Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Budget travelers arrive at the same Stockholm location when riding Flygbussarna airport bus to Stockholm. Flygbussarna’s bus station stop is located two floor levels by escalator above the Arlanda Express train station.
I generally stay at Clarion Hotel Sign when transiting through Stockholm airports with an overnight stay between cheap flights to and from California.
I only fly to Stockholm when it is my cheapest option. Stockholm is the city I most frequently find lowest priced airline tickets between San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland to Europe with every major airline and low cost carrier.
Clarion Hotel Sign rooms are basically basic. Most upscale hotel rooms I have stayed in Scandinavia seem simply, yet functionally furnished.
Breakfast is complimentary on Choice Privileges reward stays. Breakfast included in basic room rates at hotels in Scandinavia is more common than not in my experience.
The hotel restaurant was being remodeled in June 2017 when we ate breakfast in a temporary conference room set-up. I have photos of the restaurant from previous stays. I have not been back to Clarion Hotel Sign to see the remodeled restaurant interior.

Nordic Choice Hotels need to know info
Clarion Hotel Sign is a member of Nordic Choice Hotels, a separately run affiliate of Choice Hotels International. Choice Privileges members can redeem points at 180 Nordic Choice Hotels in Sweden and Norway, and a dozen or so hotels in other Nordic and Baltic countries of Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Stays at Nordic Choice Hotels do not earn Choice Privileges points on hotel spend. Â Main thing to know is when you actually pay cash for a room at a hotel in Nordic Choice Hotels, you need to be a member and credit your stay to Nordic Choice Club, a separately operated hotel loyalty program for Nordic Choice Hotels.
I hold membership in both loyalty programs.
Choice Privileges reward rates are lower for most Nordic Choice Hotels than the comparable rate in Nordic Choice Club. There are some hotels at lower points rate in Nordic Choice Club.
Choice Privileges points are earned at a higher rate at Choice Hotels worldwide for hotel spend compared to Nordic Choice Club points earn rate for spend at Nordic Choice Hotels.
I enjoyed my hotel stay at Clarion Hotel Stockholm last year. The hotel can be reached by Metro from Centraal Station, across the street from the Flybussarna and Arlanda Express stations and connected by interior walkways. I walked from Centraal Station to Clarion Hotel Stockholm on the island of Sodermalm and described the area in a series of articles with photos.
Walking Stockholm 4 days after April 7 terror attack (May 3, 2017).
Stockholm photo walk Sodermalm, Langholmen, Kungsholmen (May 5, 2017).

I also have written a couple of other articles on Clarion Hotel Sign with more photos.
