In April 2017 I booked Clarion Hotel Stockholm for 6,000 Choice Privileges points + $30 for an overnight stay before flying home to California on a Norwegian Airlines Stockholm Arlanda ARN to Oakland, California OAK $148 nonstop flight. Published room rate was $135 USD.
I arrived to Arlanda ARN from Riga, Latvia on a $28 Norwegian Airlines one-way ticket and caught the Flygbussarna to Stockholm city terminal. After several hours sitting around to get to Stockholm, my legs wanted exercise and I walked three miles across the city to the Clarion Hotel Stockholm.

Stockholm Metro Skanstull T Station for Clarion Hotel Stockholm
Stockholm’s metro underground stations are designated with a T. T-Centralen is accessible from Stockholm Central Station and will take you within one block of Clarion Stockholm at Skanstull Station on Sodermalm in 4 stops in 5 minutes at 43 SEK (one-way). There are also discount price debit cards and daily unlimited ride passes for Stockholm.
Stockholm is full of tunnels. T-Centralen entrances are at Sergels Torg square and this is the same metro station accessed from Stockholm Central Station 400 meters away.

Clarion Hotel Stockholm Lobby
The lobby entrance to Clarion Hotel gives the visitor a sense of a cavernous space with a two floor Mexican casual bar/dining restaurant to the left and a long inclined walkway to reception with seating and water fountain features on the right wall.
Get a true taste of South and Central America in the hotel restaurant “Eatery Social†is the Nordic Choice Hotels website description. Margarita specials make me think Mexican.

The high price for alcohol in Sweden, Norway and Finland to limit over consumption has the intended effect on me when I am in these countries. After a week of $2.00 to $2.50 pints of beer in Latvia and Lithuania, I was ready to dry out in Stockholm anyway.

Food prices start around $10 with main courses $15 to $30. Pork tacos 115 SEK / $13.08. A hamburger 195 SEK ($22.20). Chicken dinner with salad 275 SEK / $31.28.

Eatery Social hotel restaurant is located directly over the highway to southern parts of Stockholm with words on the window reading, “COMPLIMENTARY VIEW FOR ALL GUESTSâ€. I could not hear traffic from any of the spaces inside the hotel.
Clarion Hotel Stockholm Check-In
I did not see the self-service check-in desk when I walked to reception. Some social contact talking with the receptionist was nicer anyway. Then I got an elevator ride with a group of young women athletes at the hotel for the Stockholm Open international swim competition at Eriksdalsbadet pool complex behind the Clarion.

Some rooms at Clarion Stockholm have very limited room view.
I was happy to see my room view. I am Choice Privileges Platinum elite from 20+ nights in 2016. My room had a view of the Eriksdalsbadet pool complex.
Eriksdalsbadet is located on the south island waterfront of Sodermalm.
The full window view looks out to the freeway to the southern area of Stockholm.
Like nearly every hotel I have stayed in Scandinavia, wifi was fast. Plenty of outlets around room.

Breakfast Buffet
Morning breakfast buffet is complimentary at Clarion Hotel Stockholm. Highlight was made-to-order omelet.
Clarion Hotel Stockholm is a nice alternative to Clarion Hotel Sign for Stockholm city stays. Sodermalm neighborhoods are more interesting to me that central Stockholm area around Central Station when staying at Clarion Hotel Sign.

Clarion Hotel Sign Stockholm is the other hotel in Stockholm city at 10,000 Choice Privileges points per night. Clarion Sign is 5 minutes walk to Arlanda Express train and Flybussarna bus to Arlanda Airport.
