Hyatt Gold Passport Sep 1 – Nov 30 has at least 8 different offers targeted for member stays. One of the big offers is 50,000 bonus points after 20 nights. My offer was 2,000 bonus points on next three stays. Loyalty Traveler post lists eight different offers. It has been reported that Hyatt Gold Passport has let members change their targeted offer to a different version.

Where are you getting the 9,000 bonus limit on the Club Carlson mobile app promotion? I only see “Members may earn multiple bonuses during the Promotional Period”. Maybe I’m missing it.

Carl P – You are right. I am making it up. I went back and checked my original data and there is no mention of 9,000 bonus points limit. The bonus can be earned unlimited times.
I have not been booking any Carlson hotels or I would have caught my mistake by now.

I’d urge caution on the IHG promo — I have a screen shot of their secure website and my account plainly logged in on-screen, showing one set of points and tasks, but now when logging in I see a completely different (ridiculous) set. This after staying one night (that I didn’t really need) towards the promo. Don’t I (also) recall some negative buzz recently about them behaving badly in regard to promos people supposedly weren’t qualified to participate in, but they had somehow been allowed to register?

Sounds like a program to avoid to me.

I have two one night stays in (Radisson) to get the AA miles, etc. A few more are scheduled. I was almost ready to reconsider some reservations when I saw the 9,000 part.

@dale m – in your case with receiving two different promotions, I might be more cautious.

The issue of IHG Rewards Club allowing people to sign up for multiple promotions has been the case for years. I interviewed Don Berg, VP of IHG loyalty programs last year. I asked him point blank why IHG allows people to earn bonus points from multiple promotions. He said it was a technology issue. They could not stop it. He said at that time if members were smart enough to use the loophole, then fine. It is only recently the wording was put out warning people not to sign up for multiple targeted promotions or risk having their account closed.

I personally have earned over 15,000 bonus points on a single $100 stay. It was great while it lasted.

On a purely objective basis, the IHG promotion is the highest value return on a small investment of a few hundred dollars. This is the one promotion this season that I plan to complete since two free nights at IHG are two nights I can get a $600 return on a $300 investment for three paid nights.
