Looks like Marriott is really pushing Ritz-Carlton Rewards membership for their high end frequent guests. The Ritz-Carlton Rewards promotions have been very good in 2014. I would consider switching my loyalty membership from Marriott Rewards to Ritz-Carlton Rewards if I frequented Ritz-Carlton hotels.

Instead, I’ll be redeeming one of my Marriott Rewards MegaBonus free nights this week earned last year from two nights at a TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn where I paid under $200 all-in. The MegaBonus free night hotel award will get me into a Marriott Hotel when the rates are over $300 per night.

Our records indicate that you are not eligible for the Explore Beyond the Expected promotion. If you believe you have received this message in error or have any questions, please contact The Ritz-Carlton Rewards® Guest Services Team for assistance.

I have already earned a free night through this one: Ritz-Carlton free night after two stays July 1- Oct 31, 2014

At the Ritz San Francisco, apparently they have a few mock rooms set up for their upcoming refurb, and have selected the one they will go with.

Can you use your inside channels to go take a look and let us know what you think?

The thing I like about being a Ritz Carlton Rewards member is that you get both the Ritz Carlton promotions, but also the Marriott promotions. In essence, you can double up. For example, the current Marriott promotion is double points up to 25,000, so if you maxed out the Ritz Carlton promotion you would also get the extra 25,000 points from Marriott in most cases.

@Lark – I expected that members could not sign up for both the free night and the 50K bonus points promotions since both offers are running concurrently.

The 50K is a better offer for someone with long stays. Two 5-night stays earn 100K rather than two free nights at a category limited hotel.
