Marriott Rewards launches its new unified program in August 2018. There will be 210 hotels placed in category 7 at 60,000 Marriott Rewards points per night. The change is a great opportunity to book the highest points hotels among the 6,864 hotels worldwide for 60,000 points per night. Many of these hotels are currently 70,000 points (Ritz-Carlton Tier 5) and 90,000-105,000 points (SPG category 7).

61 hotels of these 210 August 2018 Marriott Rewards category 7 hotels will rise to 85,000 points in 2019 when Marriott Rewards adds a higher category. There will also be peak season rates added making these hotels 100,000 points per night during some dates in 2019.

If you got the points, the window is August to December 2018 for booking the best of the best at 60,000 points per night or 240,000 points for 5th Night Free stays at deep discount reward rates in the combined Marriott-Ritz-Starwood chain. These hotels might be 100,000 points per night and 400,000 points for a 5th Night Free stay in 2019.

The first list are current SPG category 7 hotels at 90,000 points (105,000 points peak season) that will be Marriott Rewards category 7 and available at 60,000 points per night for bookings made in 2018. Marriott allows bookings to about 350 days in advance.

Your chart is confusing. It shows 85k for the properties that are temporarily going to 60k, no?

Assume that runs through end of schedule so the latest possible booking at discounted rates will be for December 2019?

What is the track record using SNAs at these properties?

@Boraxo – I see now my chart is confusing since I list the reward rate as 85,000 points in August.

I simply used template I had for other articles on hotels to book before August. I will edit this chart.

    Thanks.

My understanding is you can book these hotels about 350 days out, so late December 2018 should allow bookings at future category 8 hotels for 60,000 points for stays into mid-December 2019.

This is exactly the chart I’ve been searching for, but unfortunately, it is too blurry to read (even enlarged) on my computer. Is it just me? Do you happen to have a link to this info elsewhere? I’d be really grateful.

Nevermind — it was an Explorer issue. It’s fine in Firefox! Thanks for the work. I appreciate the info so much.
