Learning there are currently potential sub-$400 round trip tickets to Melbourne, Australia from Honolulu with JetStar had me looking into Melbourne hotel options. Choice Hotels has one of the best deals around for Melbourne for stays through September 15, 2022.
Comfort Apartments Royal Gardens – 10,000/16,000 points per night (weeknight/weekend) through Sep 15, 2022
10,000 Choice Privileges points buys a $187 USD per night 2-bedroom apartment. Location in central Melbourne looks good too.
Clarion Suites Gateway – 20,000/25,000 points per night (weeknight/weekend) through June 30, 2022, then 25,000/30,000 per night (weeknight/weekend) through September 15, 2022.
Room rate is $224.10 AUD = $156 USD per night.
Not as good a deal as Comfort Apartments Royal Gardens for June and probably less of a bargain for stays in July and August.Â
I checked Sydney and Brisbane too, but did not find Choice Hotels situated in desirable locations. Melbourne, Adelaide and some other cities in Victoria looked to be the best Choice Hotel property locations where I found good value deals using Choice Privileges points.
