AC Bella Sky Copenhagen is an architecturally unique Marriott brand hotel in an outlying location between CPH airport and the urban city center. The location made me reluctant to consider this hotel during prior trips to Copenhagen, but Marriott MegaBonus and a relatively low $140 room rate motivated me to give the hotel a try.
My stay was highly satisfactory and I would stay at AC Bella Sky again, if it were an affordable rate. Copenhagen is a popular summer destination and room rates at this hotel can hit an astounding $400+ per night. During my early January 2018 stay I could have booked Radisson Blu Scandinavia for $120.
Arrival:
We arrived at Copenhagen Airport CPH from Prague around 8:30am.
CPH to AC Bella Sky Hotel public transportation
The price of a train ticket is 24 DKK ($4.00 USD) one way and involves taking the train from CPH two stops to Ørestad, then change to the Metro line for one stop to Bella Center.
A better value Copenhagen ticket to consider is a 24 hour City Pass ticket for 80 DKK good for 4 zones including the airport. This is the cheaper option if you plan to take four or more rides in 24 hours. AC Bella Sky is in an isolated location, but near the Metro for easy and quick access to city center.
Copenhagen Airport had attendants assisting tourists with ticket purchases at automated kiosks. Bella Center metro station has a ticket kiosk with instructions available in English for ticket purchases.
The first photo in this article shows AC Bella Sky Hotel distance from Bella Center metro station, about 250 meters.
The main hotel building with reception and restaurants is located on the right with the conference center facilities and fitness center on the left side when looking at hotel walking from Bella Center metro station.
AC Bella Sky lobby
A spacious lobby with greenery lined walls seems to encapsulate the environmental progressiveness seen in Scandinavian design.
AC Bella Sky Library Restaurant
AC Bella Library Restaurant is at ground floor lobby level. Two other dining spaces are one level higher, including Basalt and the breakfast buffet room.
We arrived at the hotel at 9:30am. My room rate included breakfast buffet at an additional $20 USD. The receptionist offered us two additional breakfast coupons if we wanted to eat breakfast right away. We took up that offer after having been awake for more than 5 hours and ready to fill up on free food before heading into expensive Copenhagen for the day.
AC Bella Sky Copenhagen Room 1720
Our room was on the 17th floor of the main tower in the 23 floor hotel.
All the white cabinets contained all the modern conveniences.
AC Bella Sky 1720 Bathroom
I particularly liked the golf ball soap.
Room 1720 View
Our room looked out over parkland with familiar city churches from previous Copenhagen walks visible a few miles in the distance.
AC Bella Sky Hotel is a Marriott Rewards category 6 hotel at 30,000 points per night.
This was my second stay at a Marriott brand hotel during the fall 2017 MegaBonus promotion for one free reward night category 1-5 after two hotel stays Sep 12, 2017-Jan 15, 2018.
My first stay was 10 days before at Moxy London Stratford. AC Bella Sky Copenhagen earned my free night reward valid into July 2018.
