Skt. Petri Copenhagen Choice Hotels Ascend Collection

Sankt Petri Church Copenhagen, or St. Peter Church in English, is one of Copenhagen’s original Middle Ages churches, first mentioned in 1304. The present day church is from the 15th century and was presented to German-speaking subjects in 1585 by King Frederick II. The 78 m/256 ft spire was added in 1757.

Skt. Petri Hotel is around the corner from the church. Skt. Petri is a member of Choice Hotels Ascend Collection. This is my primary hotel choice for Copenhagen at 20,000 points per night.

Skt. Petri Hotel has been remodeled since my stay last summer. The lobby and breakfast area are completely rearranged and rooms have seen a makeover from traditional light wood and sparse furnishings typical of Scandinavian hotels.

The window opened wide in this exterior facing room, however, the first floor location made the street noise a bit too much at night. The window was about 15 feet off ground level, so not a safety issue to keep open at night.

Two chairs in room for seating.

Mini bar in desk cabinet. I could not see a way to adjust temperature. A beer sitting overnight in minibar refrigerator was barely cold.

Copenhagen is a city with style.

Skt. Petri bathroom had a tub/shower combo and washcloths. Not many bathrooms in European hotels have washcloths.

One thing I avoid at Skt. Petri are hotel interior atrium facing rooms. I prefer the exterior room view with a window that opens and the noise of the street. Some rooms have balconies.

Breakfast at Skt. Petri is included and offers a high quality, great buffet spread.

I especially like their iPad coffee machines.

And made to order omelets.

Egg white omelet.

And other foods, fruits, and breads.

20,000 points per night is a splurge of Choice Privileges points, yet that points rate is a deal for a hotel usually priced from a low 1,305 DKK/$200 USD for Sunday night for July 30 and Sun Aug 13 to 2,115 – 3,105 / $325-$475 USD per night for most dates in August.

Copenhagen is an expensive hotel city and Skt. Petri stays using Choice Privileges points is a deal I have made for several nights at this Copenhagen hotel over the past three years.

Best of all is the Netto Supermarket around the corner. Harboe Pilsner beer is 2.30 DKK / $0.35 USD per bottle.
