Be Happy SFO to Norway Aug-Sep $327-$474 AA/DL/UA Fare War

World Happiness Report 2017 is an annual research study by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, a 2012 initiative launched by the UN to assist public policy decision makers with a more humanist measure for progress and development around the world.

The March 20 release made news this week with Norway dislodging Denmark for #1 happiest country. The report states no statistical significant difference in the high scores of happiness for the top four countries on the list of 155 countries:

1. Norway

2. Denmark

3. Iceland

4. Switzerland

5. Finland

6. Netherlands

7. Canada

8. New Zealand

9. Australia

10. Sweden

The top 10 countries are the same countries from last year.

USA ranks 14th behind Israel, Costa Rica and Austria and just ahead of Ireland, Germany and Belgium. UK is 19th in the list of 155 countries.

Be Happy flying to Norway…or Sweden… or Denmark

I am happy anywhere in Scandinavia the past few years with all the cheap airline tickets like last month’s WOW $70 one way SFO to Copenhagen I booked for April travel. I have flown Norwegian Stockholm to Oakland twice this year paying $111 and $149 per one-way ticket.

My current travel plan is to be in Iceland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway in April 2017.

Those kinds of airfare deals to Europe ticket in early 2017 appear to have impacted big alliance carriers too in 2017 with American-Oneworld, Delta-SkyTeam and United-Star Alliance airlines posting fares to several cities across Norway, Sweden and Denmark under $500 and even under $400 round trip for travel May, August-February 2018.

Google Flights shows lots of low fares. American Airlines low fares linked correctly in my searches. Low fares shown for Delta-KLM and United tickets were hit and miss with probably 50% or more fares shown on Google Flights re-pricing higher. I had trouble finding most SkyTeam low fares to rural Norway cities shown on Google Flights.

Low fares stating call airline will generally book through an online travel agency site through Momondo.com.

Why is it that lately all the deals seem to be from San Francisco? With the money in that town, I would think there would be no need for super sales.
