AA/DL/UA fare war Boston to many cities western Europe $380s to low $400s

A reader comment to my post on low United fares from EWR pointed me to Boston deals today. There is a major fare war between the alliances to cities all over western Europe with many places in the high $300s to low $400s. American $392 to Milan is one example. Lufthansa will fly you to Malta for $406 round trip. Delta to Madrid is $397, but Iberia will fly you there for $382 or Barcelona $388.

Departure dates range from early December, then January to May 10 for most cities.

Google Flights fare maps show the extent of this sale for a 9 day trip in March 2017.

The clouds have finally broken in Napier, New Zealand and the wind is no longer 30+ mph sustained like it has been all day.

I have seen some other great fare deals to Europe available today, but I am going to the beach now to catch the setting sun to the west behind me in an hour as I gaze east across the Pacific Ocean.
