American and United are battling it out across the USA with low fares under $50 one way to many airports. I have covered United’s attack on Dallas DFW and Philadelphia PHL. American is more competitive in Philadelphia than Dallas. Washington DC airports are United’s territory for international flights, but more neutral ground for domestic flights. There are all kinds of low fares from WAS airports BWI/DCA/IAD with both AA and UA low fares at $49 one way, especially to many cities in middle America like Kansas City, St. Louis, Des Moines.
