Club Carlson lured many of us into their hotels over the past few years with lucrative bonus points promotions. In 2011, Club Carlson announced its brand promotions, whereby one stay in a Radisson Hotel earned 50,000 bonus points. Club Carlson expanded the offer to other hotel brands with Park Plaza, Country Inn and Park Inn promotions and repeated these offers in 2012. I think I spent around $1,000 over the past four years to earn 600,000 or so Club Carlson points with their promotions.
My last paid stay at Radisson Vancouver Airport in Richmond, British Columbia two weeks ago earned over 50,000 points. That might be the last time that kind of bonus is earned in my Club Carlson account.

I booked a $135 USD MegaPoints rate for 10,000 bonus points at Radisson Vancouver Airport. This rate also earned triple points with the current Club Carlson promotion (40 bonus points/$1). I booked the stay using the Club Carlson mobile app for an additional 1,000 bonus points. I paid with Club Carlson Visa earning an additional 30,000 bonus points.

Normally I would not spend this much for a hotel stay, but in this case, the $153 spent had a great return on investment. My stay at Radisson Vancouver Airport earned enough points to pay for two nights in London at hotels that would cost $700 to $800 for two nights.
