Waikiki Equus Hotel for horse lovers joins Choice Hotels Ascend Collection

Choice Hotels enters the Hawaii travel market with the addition of Equus Hotel in Waikiki to Ascend Collection, the only Hawaii property for Choice International.

The Equus Hotel is in the upper westside of Waikiki near Ala Moana Shopping Center, Oahu’s largest mall. Equus has 67 guest rooms in a 10-story building. Equus rooms have pillow-top beds, flat screen TVs, mini fridges, Keurig coffee makers with complimentary organic coffee and tea and complimentary high-speed internet access. Rooms with city views and lanai (balconies) are available in addition to upgraded, higher floor rooms.

Rooms stay true to its Hawaiian horseback and sporting theme with equestrian inspired touches evident throughout.

Polo anyone?

If you want horses to be part of your Hawaii adventure, then The Equus Hotel might be a good choice. There are hotel rate packages including horseback trail riding or polo lessons.

The ownership company of The Equus also manages a magnificent 100-acre stretch of completely unspoiled beachfront property along O’ahu’s North Shore that is the home of Hawai’i Polo Club.

Additionally, during the polo season which runs from April until Labor Day, each guest receives two complimentary admission tickets to the polo matches held on Oahu’s North Shore.

TripAdvisor.com ranks Equus Hotel #21 of 83 hotels in Honolulu on the date of this post. 82% thumbs up after 770 reviews and the hotel received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2013 and Green Leaders Bronze Level.
