Visa Signature cardmembers can register for instant Hilton HHonors Gold membership through August 31, 2011. After promotion registration just complete three stays at any Hilton brand hotel worldwide by August 31 and pay with a Visa Signature card to retain HHonors Gold elite through March 31, 2013.

Current HHonors Gold and Diamond members receive 5,000 points for Visa Signature card registration.

    I wonder why Hilton offers promos linked to Visa as opposed to AMEX where they actually have more Hilton branded AMEX cards(Hilton Platinum AMEX, Surpass card, Membership Rewards AMEX) and only the Hilton Citibank Visa which offers far fewer benefits. Maybe the thought is to drive Visa Signature cardholders to Hilton, and then lure them into the Hilton branded AMEX cards.

    AA citi card can’t be used for this? But I already got gold using AA citi. So I need to use another visa card for future 3 stays?
