Loyalty Traveler Analysis:
Rates at DFW Airport Marriott South are $15 per night higher using B18 promotion code compared to otherwise lowest rate. This is still a savings with a $50 Bonus Bucks certificate for the $15 higher room rate.
The limitation of Bonus Bucks is AAA rates are ineligible rates when redeeming Bonus Bucks. This means the guest is paying $15 per night more than the lowest rate to earn the Bonus Bucks and may be paying $15 per night more when redeeming Bonus Bucks. Suddenly the $50 bonus is knocked down by $30 + tax which could mean the $50 Bonus Bucks only saves about $15 overall when higher room rates and tax on those higher room rates are all considered for earning and burning Bonus Bucks.
