Hampton Inn Oswiecim, Poland is a newly opened hotel in June 2018 in the city where Auschwitz-Birkenau is located. I booked two nights so we would could hang out in town and leisurely make our way to Auschwitz without traveling to Krakow on the same day as our tour.
The rate for our stay was 220.15pln/$59.86usd per night. Reward nights are as low as 10,000 points per night on some dates, but were priced at 13,000 points per night on the dates of our stay. The stay earned 2,232 points with the current Hilton Honors double points promotion.
The hotel is located adjacent to the Soła River and around the corner from the Rynek Glowny-Market Square of Oswiecim. There did not seem to be a lot happening in this small town, but the hotel is in the center of town for access to anything that might be happening.
We received a room with a view of the small brick medieval castle tower across the street dating to the 13th century.

There are different photos of Oswiecim on door signs.
Hampton Inn Oswiecim Lobby
One aspect of the elevators is the left elevator has two sets of identical room floor buttons. Going from lobby requires a key card, but nothing happens if you press room floor buttons on the left side. I assume those are service door buttons, but there is no signage to indicate that limitation.
A woman’s voice in the elevator loudly says a lot of stuff in Polish as you ride up and down.

I never explored the hotel to check out the fitness center or the restaurant by the river.
We spent most of our time walking around the town and hanging out around the Oswiecim market square.
Hampton Inn Oswiecim Breakfast
The complimentary buffet breakfast is where the hotel shined. There was a good selection of breads and salad items.
All in all, Hampton Inn Oswiecim is a good place to spend the night when visiting Auschwitz. Five hours at Auschwitz for us on a hot summer day was an exhausting tour. And for many visitors Auschwitz is a mentally emotional and draining experience.
Loyalty Traveler -Â Auschwitz-Birkenau tour in photos
Spending an extra three hours traveling by bus on a day trip from Krakow to Auschwitz is probably the most common mode of tour for international travelers without a car. I am glad we arrived from Krakow the day before our tour and went back to Krakow the day after.
We walked from the Hampton Inn Oswiecim along the river paths to Auschwitz in less than 30 minutes. And we spent two days hanging out in local bars, dining in restaurants and living with the people of Oswiecim on the market square.
