Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas was sold and the new hotel owner will rebrand the Las Vegas CityCenter hotel to Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria luxury brand. CityCenter is the Las Vegas Strip development with Aria, Vdara and a high-end shopping center opened in 2009 just as the economic recession hit.
Mandarin Oriental is one of the few hotels on the strip without a casino. One of its signature features is a 23rd floor bar with great views of the Strip.
I had the opportunity to stay at Mandarin Oriental in 2010 on a $12 per night room rate purchased through an Expedia Canada promotion.
