U.S. Travel Association’s Daily Getaways is in its second week of five weeks of travel offers. Hilton Honors points are on sale today April 16 at 1pm eastern for $5 per 1,000 points in packages of 30,000 points; 100,000 points or 250,000 points.
I read three different blogs this morning mentioning the value of 95,000 Honors points for a discount rate at Conrad Maldives.
I am not a paradise person. I have no desire to even find out if the Maldives is anything like what I would consider paradise.

The reason I purchased Hilton Honors points for $5.00 per 1,000 points during regular Hilton Honors purchase points promotions offers for 100% bonus points in 2017 and 2018 was an intention to redeem these at Hilton brand hotels in Europe priced at 5,000 points and 10,000 points.
DoubleTree Sighisoara, Romania 235.20 EUR ($291.13 USD) for 5 nights April 19-24, 2018 on advance purchase nonrefundable rate.
This is a reward points reservation I booked in February 2018 for 20,000 Honors points using the 5th night free Hilton Honors elite member rate for DoubleTree Sighisoara.
Unfortunately, I needed to cancel this reservation for DoubleTree Sighisoara when I came down with the flu last month and decided to delay my trip to Romania.
My main point about the opportunity to buy Hilton Honors points today for $5 per 1,000 points rate available through Daily Getaways is there are around 200 Hilton brand hotels worldwide where you can pick up rooms for as low as $20 to $50 per night when you buy points. These can be great reward values for the budget traveler if you find yourself in one of these hotel locations offering reward nights for 5,000 or 10,000 points.
Loyalty Lobby published lists last month for 47 Hilton brand hotels at 5,000 points and 154 hotels at 10,000 points per night.
Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Vienna are places where I would consider using Hilton points for cheap nights. Last summer I stayed at Hampton Inn Krakow when it was only 5,000 points per night (now 10K). I stayed at DoubleTree Bratislava in 2016 for 10,000 points per night. I just booked a new Hilton Honors reward stay over the weekend for 10,000 Honors points per night when the room rate was $164 USD.
My plans are still to travel to Romania sometime this year and burn some more Hilton points in Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu and Sighisoara.
