WOW Air has pre-summer discount tickets from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Iceland as low as $266 round trip for travel in May. Tickets departing late May and returning in June are as low $316 round trip. Several other cities like London, Amsterdam, Dublin are about $30 to $50 more each way.
Reykjavik, Iceland in early June means over 20 hours of sun.

I have traveled to Europe in winter for 10 days flying WOW on a $70 one way ticket to Copenhagen with only one personal item, but it is a challenge to pack that small.
