Buy Starpoints 35% off to March 16; $22.75 per 1,000 points

SPG has one of their deepest points discount sales happening through March 16, 2018 with 35% off the regular $35 per 1,000 points purchase price when you buy 5,000 or more points. This brings the price of Starpoints down to $22.75 per 1,000 points.

Each member may buy up to 30,000 Starpoints during the calendar year.

My last Starwood Hotel stay was Luxury Collection Sofia Balkan Hotel in Bulgaria paying 2,000 points + $35 per night for the category 2 hotel compared to 167 EUR SPG member prepaid rate. I basically got $75 per 1,000 points redemption value on the published rate.

Redemption value is relative and less meaningful when hotel rates are priced higher than other available hotels in the city.

I view the value of my Starpoints in Bulgaria more like staying in a historic Sofia hotel and landmark for $35 per night.

And still a good deal at $80.50 per night, if I had purchased Starpoints for $22.75 in a sale like this for buying Starpoints at 35% discount.
