The basic promotion operates by adding to the number of base points earned from 2 stays the amount of bonus points to reach 8,000 points.
For example, stay twice at $75 per night for $150 in base hotel spend. All Choice brands earn 10 points per dollar.
$150 x 10 points = 1,500 base points. Choice Privileges will add 6,500 bonus points for 8,000 total points.
There is a minimum 5,000 bonus points. This means you earn 5,000 bonus points when your base spend is over $300 for two stays.
For example, spend $400 on two stays and you earn 4,000 base points + 5,000 bonus points for a total 9,000 points.
The value of Choice Privileges points
Paris and Prague are two places where Choice Privileges points have great value. I stayed 4 nights at Clarion Prague City last month at 10,000 points per night. This hotel is only 8,000 points per night in October when room rates are 110 EUR per night.
This morning I was looking at Choice Hotels in Paris and there are several hotels in the 8,000 to 12,000 points range.
