IHG Rewards Club Accelerate fall 2016 promotion begins Tuesday September 6 and runs through December 15, 2016. I booked a $94 one-night hotel stay in London for next week at a Holiday Inn. My targeted offers are 3,000 bonus points for my first stay and 5,000 bonus points for a stay in September. There is no incentive for me to book any more IHG stays in 2016 after I complete that one night stay in London and earn 8,000 bonus points from my targeted IHG Accelerate tasks. All subsequent stays with IHG only earn double points through Accelerate promotion. That is only an extra 1,000 points per $100 in hotel spend, or about $6 in points value. IHG Accelerate is over for me after the first week of the 14 week promotion.
Other hotel loyalty promotions for Fall 2016 stays
While there are some big bonus offers with programs like Hyatt Gold Passport offering 75,000 bonus points after 25 nights, that deal is not much incentive for me either since I do not need anywhere near that many nights during the next three months. Well, actually I do need about 25 hotel nights from September to November, however, Hyatt Hotels are in very few cities I am visiting in Europe and New Zealand and the ones that are around are priced too high to be useful for my travels.
My action plan is to pick the easy bonus points fruit with my paid hotel stays.

Wyndham Rewards Via Checkout Payment for booking by Sep 30 and stay completed by Oct 1, 2016 = 5,000 bonus points.
Club Carlson Double Points Weeknights (Sun – Thu check-in) / Triple Points Weekends (Fri-Sat check-in) August 1 – Oct 31.
