Delta/SkyTeam Washington D.C. Mileage Runs, most of Europe in $400s Sep-Dec

Delta/SkyTeam flyers have a great opportunity to pick up mileage run tickets to Europe for end of year travel Sep-Dec 2016. Delta will fly you round trip over the weekend to dozens of cities across Europe with ticket prices in the $400s this fall from Washington D.C., New York and Chicago area airports.

The mileage run deal is you have to book a return ticket over the weekend for two or three days, then fares across Europe drop to the $400s, or low $500s for Chicago. United/Star Alliance also has these mileage run fares to some cities, but nothing like the extensive routes offered at low prices with Delta from Washington IAD/DCA/BWI. American/Oneworld are mostly sitting out these two-day trip discounts.

Hard to say if all these low fares from Delta and United will end at midnight tonight, June 12, when the Icelandair 96-hour sale ends Pacific time?

The deals are widely available today, Sunday June 12, and the hardest part may be deciding the European city or airport where you want to spend the night.

Since this is a time sensitive purchase, I limit my searches primarily to one weekend Friday Nov 4 â€“ Sunday Nov 6 to show sample round trip ticket prices. Most of these fares are from IAD, but low fares also available from DCA and BWI.

Google Flights fare links were taken between 7:30-8:00am Pacific time Sunday, June 12. If the fares are substantially higher than shown, then the sale is likely over. But checkÂ other dates and fare links first. It may be that one date is gone.

These are just samples of the routes available. There are numerous cities in France (Air France) and Italy (Alitalia) in the $400s and several more cities in eastern Europe.
