United and Delta at $816 is a relatively low fare to Argentina. Ticket prices have generally been over $1,000 round trip from California over the past few months. You can fly as soon as next Sunday on Delta for $820 round trip. This is a wide-open sale for flight departures Sunday through Friday for travel August through October.
I don’t think of a ticket over $800 as a bargain, especially since flights to Sao Paulo, Brazil have been around $600 for months now, but Buenos Aires is quite a different environment from Sao Paulo and travel between Brazil and Argentina does not seem to be too cheap either.

This is a deal that you can grab as early as next weekend with Delta Airlines offering a fare of $821 round trip flying via Salt Lake City and Atlanta.
That seems to be the deal for dates I checked with these flights to Buenos Aires at the lowest fares requiring multiple stops.

San Francisco fares are mostly in the $900s and so are most low fare dates from Los Angeles.
For some reason, there is a low fare of $779 from LAX-EZE on United Airlines for one date I found departing in October.
