California Residents earn a free flight with four San Diego segments to select cities
I wrote about an Alaska Airlines promotion for a free ticket after four segments between San Diego and 13 select cities in this September 10 post.
There is a nonstop flight between San Diego and Monterey and the fare for that route dropped from $94 to $69 with this Fall fare sale.
Six of the 13 cities eligible for the California resident promotion for a free ticket are reduced with the Alaska Airlines Fall Sale.

When Family Life Gets in the Way of Travel
Loyalty Traveler readers will hopefully be getting some San Diego hotel reviews in October. Two of my planned trips have already been blown for September and October. An Ireland trip for October was cancelled due to family health issues and the Ireland trip supplanted the road trip to Yellowstone National Park which I had initially planned in August.
Staycation days hanging out around Monterey, Big Sur and the Santa Cruz Mountains have kept me occupied during the past month of gorgeous central coast weather, but I am really feeling the travel itch after two months at home.
This Alaska Airlines Fall Sale provides a good opportunity for me to fly nonstop to a part of California that normally takes about 8 to 10 hours of driving time.
And for those of you in San Diego, hotel rates in Monterey for midweek stays drop to low-season after November 1.
These are the kind of loyalty promotions I love where I can travel somewhere and earn a travel credit worth as much or more than the cost to fulfill the promotion offer.
