Hilton Lake Las Vegas (formerly Ritz-Carlton)

Hilton is rebranding the former Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas that was foreclosed and closed down in May 2010. The hotel reopened in February 2011 as Ravella Lake Las Vegas managed by Dolce Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is now undergoing another brand change and will be Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa in June 2013.

The Village also hosts a number of events each year, from boat races and music on the lake to winter ice-skating. Hilton Lake Las Vegas

Lake Las Vegas is east of Henderson, Nevada, about 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. In 2009 the two lakefront hotels were Loews and Ritz-Carlton. In March 2012 the Loews Resort rebranded to Westin.

The real estate downturn severely impacted Lake Las Vegas.

Personally I am a fan of the Lake Las Vegas location. A Hilton resort will be a nice addition.

    We live in Las Vegas and really enjoyed the hotel when it was the Ritz Carlton. However, it just could not sustain enough business, especially when Lake Las Vegas itself went into bankruptcy and the retail area connected to the hotel was at 50% occupancy. With the 1+ hour distance from the Las Vegas Strip, it just didn’t fit into many people’s plans for a Las Vegas vacation.

    When Dolce purchased the hotel, it didn’t appear that they spent much on refurbishing the hotel. The rooms looked the same and are tired. On top of that, the service levels dropped significantly IMHO from Ritz to Dolce.

    I think being a Hilton with it’s reservation system will help the hotel immensely. But it really shows you how much investment has been made in the property when it’s basically going from a Ritz Carlton to a Hilton. That’s a serious prestige drop.

    The other property at Lake Las Vegas has suffered multiple ownership and brand changes as well. It opened as a Hyatt Regency, then changed to a Loews and is now a Westin.

    I live in lake Las Vegas and drive to the strip every day, it’s 25 min at the most. Things are picking up in LLV more and more by the day. Real Estate is up about 25% from last year. I’d assume Hilton is working on buying one or two of the golf courses otherwise they would NOT be making this investment. The Hotel can not survive unless both courses are open.
