Daily Getaways Points & Miles Sales June 10-July 12

U.S. Travel Association and American Express have announced the 2013 Daily Getaways flash sales will happen beginning June 10 for five weeks through July 12 with Monday through Friday sales.

Preview of 2013 sales opens June 3, 2013.

The basic idea is every day there is a travel partner with an item for sale. The value for points and miles collectors are the Daily Getaways sales have been one of the lowest cost ways to buy hotel points over the past few years.

The quantities are limited and the blogosphere hype of these deals makes it a challenge to get some of the offers. You need to be quick.

Sample of sales from last year’s Daily Getaways in April/May 2012.

HHonors 150,000 points = $825 ($742.50 with AmEx) 100 available.

HHonors 250,000 points = $1,375 ($1,237.50 with AmEx) 100 available.

Hyatt Gold Passport 30,000 points = $330 ($297 with AmEx) 35 available.

Hyatt Gold Passport 36,000 points = $415 ($373.50 with AmEx) 15 available.

Choice Privileges 32,000 points = $134 ($120.60 with AmEx)

Choice Privileges 36,000 points = $156 ($140.40 with AmEx)

Choice Privileges 40,000 points = $160 ($154.00 with AmEx)

Wyndham Rewards 32,000 points = $110 (350 available) ($100 with AmEx)

Wyndham Rewards 50,000 points = $143 (300 available) ($128.70 with AmEx).

There were some great deals for Gaylord Resorts, Loews and Omni Hotels that rarely sell out quickly. Gaylord is now part of Marriott Rewards, so I don’t expect to see their offer this year in Daily Getaways.

Starwood has participated in past years, but not in 2012.

If the deals are like years past, then the weeks of June 10 through July 12 are a good time to try your luck at Daily Getaways for cheap travel opportunities.

Now that Hilton has ruined their guest program with the worlds/industry worst devaluation in history their points aren’t worth very much
I would have made very effort in the past to secure these. I’ll gladly take the Peso over a Hilton HHonors point these days
    Hilton Hhonors program RIP

Hilton is not alone … with Marriott, PC, and Wyndham also selling you the points on “discount” and then they turn around and have a massive devaluation!

    Ric:

Do you (or anyone else) know if the Daily Getaways have an expiration date? Last year I bought two Alamo $50 certificates for and didn’t use them. I don’t recall anything about an expiration date. Thanks.

    Question:

“Special savings for Cardmembers: Receive an extra 10% off travel offers when you use any American Express® Card.”

Does that include AMEX’s Serve Card?

    Anyone got an idea?
