Daily Getaways offers Choice Privileges points today, June 19, at the lowest purchase price of the year – $5.18 per 1,000 points when you buy 55,000 points for $280. The price per point increases at smaller purchase amounts. There are four offers with 4,199 total packages available. Sale begins at 1:00pm Eastern, 10:00am Pacific.

    Mission accomplished. Managed to purchase 4 sets of 55K for $1,140 in the first seconds of sale. All offers were on hold when I tried to buy more points. Spent a few minutes trying for 42K, then switched to 28K and after a minute or so hit that offer for 1 set. Refreshed for 28K and hit another set. Then repeated and scored a third set around 10:15am.

    My objective was to buy 304,000 points in all. Paid $25 more than if I had landed 2 sets of 42K, but still paid about $200 less than I could buy 84,000 points through Choice Privileges.

    While I generally burn most of my Choice Privileges points in Europe, I spent last night studying Choice Hotels in USA and found a dozen or so hotels offering real deals on award stays from September 15 – November 30.

    Thank you for highlighting this daily getaways offer. I was able to buy 4 sets of 42K after an inadvertent refresh cancelled/locked out my in-progress 55K purchase….ugh. I’ve never stayed at a Choice Privilege hotel, but reading your reports/guidance has opened my eyes to giving them a try. I would be very interested in hearing about the US deals that you uncovered.
