Daily Getaways is a travel brands promotion for participating companies like Best Western, Choice Hotels, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, Wyndham and other brands like car rental companies, Universal Studios, Omni Hotels and Las Vegas casino resorts.

The real value for points and miles travelers is the opportunity to buy hotel points for specific brands like Best Western Rewards, Choice Privileges and World of Hyatt points when Daily Getaways price for loyalty points are typically offered at the lowest prices available for the year. Other brands like Hilton, IHG and Marriott typically offer large numbers of points or gift cards at rates matching their own best offers of the year with higher annual points purchase limits than typically offered through the hotel chain’s own site.

Another reason why Daily Getaways is valuable for travelers who typically buy hotel points from one or more hotel loyalty programs during Daily Getaways annual sales. Points purchases from Daily Getaways are not counted toward the annual purchase limit for member’s buying points through the brand’s own hotel loyalty program.

This thing has become worth less and less over the past several years. Hardly even worth looking at anymore.

I don’t understand how Hyatt believes it has benefitted from offering an absurdly small number of points packages. Your odds seem better buying a lottery ticket. Better marketing for Hyatt would be what other companies do: offer enough packages to engage most customers, at a reasonable price. Odds of success need to be 25% or higher; otherwise you just irritate customers.

Last summer I spent about $2,100 or so for around 400,000 Choice Privileges points.

I redeemed 358,000 points in 2023 for 23 nights with published rates over $7,000 for 8 nights in suites at Hotel Aquarius Venice, 6 nights The Thief Oslo and 9 nights in suites Prague and Czechia.

Choice Privileges points are where I see high value opportunities and Best Western points have good value in some locations.

    From my own experiences…..

Choice has decent value to buy. The issue is where you use and when. Some hotels have inflated seasonal prices compared to booking cost.

Best westetn purchase is a decent deal depending on where you are targeting. There were some great be deals but points have since gotten inflated. @0at therr regular rate of $55 for 10,000 pts. $220 gets you 40,000 pts. After taxes a 40,000 pt hotel can be near $300. You can find some 20,000 pt per night hotel’s whose going rate is $150+ per night. 2nights is $300+

IHG regularly has 100% point buy options outside of daily getaways.

Wyndham have better point offers outside of what they have offered on daily.

Hyatt can be a very good deal but they are so few offered. Hyatt deals are there on low point hotels.

Hey Ric, how were you able to book suites with Choice points in Prague. I only see regular rooms available in Clarion.

  • Ric Garrido April 29, 2023

There were suites in Prague available to book a couple months ago, but I do not see any availability now.

I had never seen suites available at Clarion Hotel Old Town in Prague before this year.

I booked a two room suite with a rooftop deck about 800 square feet in size with Prague Castle view.

There were also suites available in other cities like Ceske Budjovice, Liberec and Olomouc.

I stayed in junior suite at Clarion Ceske Budjovice a few years back.
