Hotel Rezydent Sopot is an Accor MGallery Hotel in the center of the city between the train station at the shopping mall and Bohaterów Monte Cassino, the main shopping, entertainment and mostly pedestrian traffic lane in the beach resort town on the Baltic Sea between Gdansk and Gdynia, Poland. The hotel looks historic, yet was only built a little over 20 years ago in a Sopot Art Nouveau style, reminiscent of some 1920s architecture seen around the city.
Accor Hotels are the largest hotel chain in Europe. ALL – Accor Live Limitless is the loyalty program. I find Accor’s loyalty program irrelevant for my travel in California due to extremely high room rates at all the Fairmont Hotels statewide.
Taking advantage of bonus points opportunities outside of California is the way I got a jumpstart with a stash of 7,975 Accor points earned in 2019. I also had instant fast-track complimentary Platinum elite status in 2019. On a trip to Amsterdam and Krakow, Poland for Christmas 2019, I planned three 2-night stays with Accor Hotels to earn 6,000 bonus points after three stays. My stays cost $673 for six nights. My 7,975 points from that 2019 promotion were set to expire Dec 15, 2022.
I checked room rates for Sofitel Grand Hotel Sopot and MGallery Hotel Rezydent Sopot. Cheap rooms under $50 per night were available in December at Hotel Rezydent during the time we planned for a hotel stay in Gdansk. Seeing Hotel Rezydent Executive Suite for 636 PLN, about $130 USD caught my eye.Â
The points reward system with Accor points is 2,000 points have a fixed value at 40 EUR that can be used as credit to pay for a hotel stay. You can use multiple blocks of 2,000 points as credit on hotel advance purchase rates too. Earning 2,000 points can take a relatively high level of spend in the 600 to 1,000 EUR range. Promotions like 3 stays of 2-nights can be a real deal with potential for 20 to 40% rebate on hotel spend needed to earn 6,000 bonus points.
My 7,975 points earned in late 2019 were set to expire on December 15, 2022, after pandemic extensions on points expiration.
I booked a Hotel Rezydent Sopot Executive Suite in October 2022 for one night in late November on a nonrefundable rate of $145.95. I received $116.80 hotel stay credit redeeming 6,000 Accor points.
We stayed in the Baltic Apartment, Room 201.
Staying at Hotel Rezydent redeeming 6,000 points left me with only a $29 check out payment. The stay earned sufficient points to give me another 2,000 points worth 40 EUR for my next stay with Accor Hotels. After 3 years I finally unlocked the potential value of 6,000 Accor points with a stay in a suite during off season at a summer beach resort town. Those points could easily have gone unused if I only had the option of booking $350 entry level room rates at Fairmont Hotels in California to use my Accor ALL 6,000 points credit.
Our stay was when two different football games were playing for World Cup 2022 at same time. We had two TVs running with a game on each room.
Kelley loved the night feature of motion sensors turning on nightlights around the floor of the bed frame when you stepped out of bed in the dark.Â
The bathroom offered double sinks, a toilet behind a glass door on the left and a room with a bathtub and walk in shower to the right.
The cabinet in left foreground of photo above held the coffee set-up and refrigerator.

At check-in I was offered a drink coupon for the hotel bar. They served ZÅ‚ote Lwy by Browar Amber, a beer I saw in a couple of other pubs and the Executive Lounge Gdansk Airport.Â
