Mr and Mrs Smith hotels partnering with IHG One Rewards has made many new destinations available for hotel stays using IHG points. With more than 1,600 Mr and Mrs Smith affiliated properties worldwide, my quick observation revealed dozens of hotels in Europe bookable through the IHG website using points. You can book stays and earn IHG points at participating Mr and Mrs Smith properties. The challenge is learning specifically which Mr and Mrs Smith hotels currently participate in IHG.
Using Mr and Mrs Smith’s website to search properties, find interesting hotels and then cross-check with hotels bookable with IHG points revealed a large number of Mr and Mrs Smith Hotels available through its own website do not come up in IHG website searches. A quick read through FlyerTalk indicated about 400 hotels in the Mr and Mrs Smith brand appear in IHG searches. The inclusion of some new and uncommon place names in the IHG destination search bar where you can find a Mr and Mrs Smith hotel, but not yet bookable with IHG, indicates to me there may be an expansion in upcoming months of MMS properties available using IHG points.
WARNING: 30-Days advance cancellation on Mr and Mrs Smith IHG points reward stays.
There is a big caveat to the value of IHG points for Mr and Mrs Smith hotels in that IHG points reservations are restricted to 30-days advance cancellation before your stay to get points refunded. Cancellations and no shows within 30 days of a Mr and Mrs Smith stay on points are basically nonrefundable points nights.Â
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Dubrovnik has three Mr and Mrs Smith hotel properties available for booking in spring 2023 using IHG points. IHG has no presence in Croatia, except for Mr and Mrs Smith affiliated hotels. The cost to buy IHG points for a stay in Dubrovnik is as much as 50% off published rates. The price to book free nights with IHG points for stays in spring 2023 offers a deep discount opportunity on summer season rates when cash rates or points rate are double or triple room rates for March, April and early May. Chase IHG Mastercard cardmembers can get 4th night free rates using IHG points.

Reward Night bookings are non-refundable if cancelled within 30 days of arrival. Reward Night bookings cancelled more than 30 days in advance will be refunded all IHG One Rewards Points redeemed at the time of the original booking.
Dubrovnik, Croatia – Mr and Mrs Smith Hotel Bellevue
Hotel Bellevue’s location on the coast and about 20 minutes walk into Old Town Dubrovnik commands high prices. Traveling in March to early May can offer big savings. Hotel Bellevue ranks #3 on TripAdvisor for 85 hotels in Dubrovnik at time of writing this piece.
90,000 points for a 4-night stay March 16-20, 2023 is equivalent to $450 for the price to buy points during one of IHG’s frequent promotional sales when you can buy points with 100% bonus points for a $5 per 1,000 points purchase rate.
$112.50 per night is a deal compared to the posted rate of 198 EUR for a nonrefundable room in March 2023.

Finding dates when all three hotels are available for booking a 4-night stay using points is challenging. These stays using points price at nearly half the rate for a cash booking.
There are certainly deals to be found using IHG points for Mr and Mrs Smith hotel stays. The more than 30-days before stay cancellation policy for a points refund is likely a deal breaker for me, unless I am already in the place and can book the Mr and Mrs Smith hotel that week using points.
