United Airlines has competitive prices to JetBlue for San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale or reverse route for as low as $217 round trip or about $112 each way for dates starting in September 2022 and later. JetBlue has far more low fare dates than United, but this might be a good deal for someone eligible for free checked bags on United.

How is that any kind of comparison? United stops one way in IAD… no one on their right mind would do that just to save on a baggage fee
@SMR – some people, like me, desire cheap United flight miles to reach and maintain elite status in a Star Alliance frequent flyer program. I have Star Alliance Gold through Aegean Miles+Bonus.
Also, for $30 more the one stop flight can be a United nonstop.
Pleasure to have you back Ric. Always good to hear from those who actually walk the walk.
I’d like your opinion on why transcon air fares have increased so much. Midweek CA to the midwest is $500 one way. Yet CA to Hawaii is $129 any day you want. Intra-CA fares are also low. Why the discrepancy? Did the schedulers just misallocate all the capacity?
