Or you can take only carry-on and play seat roulette to fly cheaper in Economy Light. I usually do okay with seat roulette, except Kelley and I ended up in two middle seats on a totally packed aircraft for our December flight SFO to FRA. You can’t always get what you want. But we did get what we needed. A flight to Europe.

Hi Rick. Off topic – do you try to BRG at all with any chain hotels? Thank you in advance

@Boris – Up to 2016 I regularly booked rooms using BRG claims. Often around 50% of my paid stays each year.

Since 2016, nearly all my paid stays are international hotels, where finding a BRG is more difficult to find and get approved. Nearly all my hotel stays in USA are points stays.

The last time I had a successful BRG claim submission was a Best Western at DFW in June 2016.
