$350 SFO to London flights with $75 per night London hotel deals

Airfare deals from San Francisco to London have me looking at trip ideas to Europe. This article looks at a one week trip to London as one of several itineraries I have researched over the past few days.  The combination of low airfare with some currently available hotel deals in London means it is possible for one person to travel to SFO to London for as little as $335 round trip and book a hotel stay for $75 per night with hotel loyalty points. This means 5 nights in London for as little as $400 + $335 airfare covers the primary travel expenses for a one-week trip to London.

The ticket price of $114.03 is based on redeeming 100 TAP frequent flyer points for a $12 discount. If you do not have any TAP Portugal points, then the price is $126.03 one way. If you require a checked bag, then add $60 more.

London Gatwick transportation to central London is possible for about $7 each way on National Express bus.

I prefer to fly in and out of London Heathrow and take the Underground. TAP Portugal offers flights to London Heathrow for the same $226 price.

Choice Hotels in London

London has thousands of lodging opportunities with hotels and Airbnb. One of the best deals I know as an option available to many is using Choice Privileges points for reward nights at London hotels.

Comfort Inn Hyde Park London at 10,000 points per night on Sun-Thu weeknights.

Other dates I checked showed availability of Comfort Inn Hyde Park for six consecutive nights. The flights I used for this sample itinerary require a move since the hotel is not available for points for weekend nights.

There are also two other London hotels at 10,000 points per night on weekday nights.

Comfort Inn Westminster is a great location in easy walking distance to Victoria Coach Station, where National Express bus from London Gatwick arrives and departs from. However, the room I had at Comfort Inn Westminster a few years ago was one of the smallest rooms I have stayed in while visiting London.

The basic deal with Choice Hotels is members can acquire points at $7.50 per 1,000 points with Points Plus Cash. This means these hotels range in price from $75 to $120 per night if buying Choice Privileges points for $7.50 per 1,000 points. Published room rates are $140 to $233 per night.

This trip to London is only $350 round trip for airfare, as low as $75 per night for any of the three hotels at 10,000 points on weeknights and $90 per night for Comfort Inn Edgeware Road for Friday and Saturday nights for a total $405 in points.

London is a budget trip bargain at the moment. And a trip to London during the October 31 Brexit deadline might be a historical opportunity to be in the city.
