Air Canada/United LAX to Rome $242, Paris $252 Nov-May 2020

Air Canada, United and Star Alliance carriers have deeply discounted economy class tickets priced from $242 to about $278 round trip from LAX to Paris and Rome for departures from November to mid-May 2020. October travel is about $100 more. This sale kind of explains why SkyTeam has several cities in Star Alliance hubs on sale today in the $400s from San Francisco for a California cross state version of a fare war.

  1. I booked this deal and then tried to book seat and this doubled the price! Cancelled. The airlines are so misleading with their fare sales and this basic economy business.

  2. @Cindy R. – Basic economy means no checked bag and no seat until check-in 24 hours before departure.

Nearly all my international flights to Europe are basic economy. I rarely get stuck in a middle seat. At check-in the day before the flight I am usually able to change my seat to window or aisle. I prefer an aisle to be able to get up and move whenever I desire.

Basic economy is the way things are now. I like the low fare deals.
