London deals with Choice Privileges points

Choice Privileges points can place you in a London city center hotel room for less than any other hotel points currency over the next few months. You can buy a hotel room in London at some Choice Hotels for as little as $75 with several hotels in London ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 points per night. There are seven Choice Hotels in central London. While the room will probably not be in the upscale category comparable to what you can find with Hilton, Hyatt, IHG and Marriott, you might find a better location in London with Choice Privileges points at a price point far below what those other hotel loyalty programs charge for properties in the same areas.

Choice Privileges members with 6,000 points can book a Points Plus Cash reward night paying $7.50 per 1,000 points for the remaining points needed to book a standard reward. This means it is possible to buy 10,000 points for $75 and 20,000 points for $150. A little strategic planning allows a member to buy as many points as they desire by booking a stay with Points Plus Cash nights, then canceling and collecting the points for another reservation.

At $7.50 per 1,000 points purchase price you can potentially discount the cost of hotel nights in London by more than 50%.

I am currently unable to find any reward night availability for any dates at Quality Hotel Hampstead. This hotel is usually one of the best deals in London at 10,000 points much of the year, however, I have not seen reward night availability there in searches over the past two months. There was a similar problem with no reward availability at many Scandinavian hotels that seems to only have been resolved this week.

  1. ric,
    Thanks for sharing,very helpful info.
on a side note, yesterday I was finally able to book choice hotels in Oslo
Norway. For stays starting the third week in September. Those dates had been blocked since mid june.I had kept checking every day and finally able to book.

  2. Good to see some of these deals are still good. I became a big believer in the Choice program when I stayed at the Hyde Park property in December 2013 for 8K points per night for five nights. Not luxurious, but the hotel was in a good, safe location. London is so big that there’s no way that you find a hotel that is near everything.
