Weak IHG Accelerate Fall 2019 offer

IHG Accelerate Fall 2019 promotion is out for stays from Sep 1-Dec 31, 2019, but do not get your hopes up. Many IHG Rewards Club members, including me, are seeing one of IHG’s weakest promotion offers yet.

My Accelerate Fall 2019 offer is for a total 14,400 bonus points and requires a minimum 7 nights to complete. Kelley did not even get an Accelerate offer this time around or last time.

My IHG Accelerate Fall 2019 tasks

5,400 bonus points – two weekend stays of 2-nights including a Saturday = 4 nights minimum to complete.

4,500 bonus points – one Points & Cash stay = buying at least 5,000 points = 1 night minimum to complete.

2,800 bonus points – stay at 4 IHG hotels = 4 nights minimum to complete.

1,500 bonus points – IHG credit card spend.

There is no Achievement Bonus with my Fall 2019 offer.

Combining the two weekend stays (2 hotels) with 4 IHG hotels (2 more hotels) task requires 6 nights and one Points & Cash stay means a minimum 7 hotel nights with IHG to maximize this offer.

In short, I will likely complete the Points & Cash stay using my IHG credit card to pick up 6,000 bonus points. I also get a 10% rebate on points redeemed as an IHG MasterCard holder.

I would only complete the other tasks through stays I might book anyway, but more likely than not, I will simply focus on redeeming IHG points this quarter. Looking forward to seeing the new list of PointBreaks hotels coming out in the next few days.

Recent warning signs are emerging in the hotel industry that a slowdown with flat or even declining occupancy will continue to worsen in 2020. My prediction is next winter’s hotel loyalty promotions will improve.

    I did not complete my Accelerate 2019 Summer Challenge but not likely to complete this one since I don’t have plan for 4 or more consecutive nights. I wish IHG still have 3 out of 4 achievement award for bonus.

    The Pointbreak list should be out soon. I am hoping to find a hotel in the list that I can use.

    Talking about weak. My offer is 1,000 point for staying one night. That’s a grand total of 1 offer for 1,000 points til end of year. Chances are I am taking my business stays elsewhere.

    That is bad. Really bad. Even worse than mine. I cannot imagine moving two weekend stays for 5400 points.

    I’ll expect the next Pointbreaks to be just as bad.

    As an Ambassador Spire Elite, I received the grand total offer of …..
    1,000 points for one stay. Period.

    For a ‘loyalty program’ that has no guaranteed benefits of substance, the only thing going for it are the ability to earn points. It’s disgusting how IHG Rewards Club treats its’ most loyal customers?

    Yeah, not happening. Last quarter was bad; this one is even worse. Why even bother having it? Or is that the goal?

    My points are worth less anyway with most hotels going for 20k or more. The only real value for me is using points+cash to skip the taxes in high tax areas. Otherwise, I’ve been having decent luck with Hotels.com.

    Not terrible, only interesting since the town I’m currently in has 2 Holiday in Expresses, and it’s a small town, either location works for my location needs.
    so 4 stays is good for 29,500

    And Choice Hotels is in between 2 stays 8000 points promotions.

    But as always using my IHG rewards credit card will not post, so after waiting the entire posting period duration I will have to call and get them to manually add that achievement and bonus points.
