Marriott Bonvoy Marriott International The Luxury Collection

The Langley, Luxury Collection new Marriott Rewards deal at 35,000 points, convenient to London Heathrow

The Langley Buckinghamshire is a new Luxury Collection hotel less than 10 miles from London Heathrow Airport in Langley Park in the village of Iver. The Langley in rural Buckinghamshire County was originally built in 1756-60 for the Third Duke of Marlborough as a hunting lodge in royal hunting grounds. Slough is 3 miles away for city services and central London is one hour by train from Langley Station, 1.7 miles away. London Underground Uxbridge Station is 5 miles by car.

The Langley has 41 rooms in two buildings. The main building is the former hunting lodge and a secondary building was originally a brewhouse for the estate. The Lodge underwent an extensive six-year renovation for hotel conversion. The hotel has a spa and fine dining.

The real deal I see is this hotel has room rates regularly at 400 GBP per night, yet reward nights are currently only 35,000 points through Marriott Bonvoy. This is a reward stay to book sooner than later.

The Langley Buckinghamshire Fri Sep 13 – Wed Sep 18, 2019

140,000 points 5th night free reward.

Or 414 GBP/night for 2,169 GBP with service charge = $2,758 USD.

The few TripAdvisor reviews posted since the hotel opened mostly give a 5 circles excellent rating.

Location and Transportation

The hotel website states a taxi from London Heathrow is about 45 GBP.

Checking out the hotel location on Google Maps indicates it is possible to get within 15 minutes walk of the hotel via public transportation.

Last year I rode a few of the Thames Valley bus routes between Heathrow Terminal 5 Platform 8  and Windsor, including taking the #9 bus to Slough. Taxi or ride share to the hotel 5 miles from Slough bus station is probably quite a bit cheaper than picking up a taxi from Heathrow.

The hotel is in the center of Langley Park.

About the Park

One of Buckinghamshire’s best kept secrets, Langley Park is steeped in history and a nationally important haven for wildlife. The stunning Rhododendron collection in the Temple Gardens is an explosion of colour from April to June, with views to Windsor Castle and beyond. In Kings Wood and out into the wider parkland veteran Oak and Chestnut trees, some planted by Capability Brown, provide valuable habitats for rare and endangered invertebrates. To compliment all of this there is a fantastic Tea Room serving hot and cold snack and homemade cakes, a children’s play garden, arboretum and history and tree trails. Langley Park offers a great day out for the young and old alike.

Overall the hotel location with history, royalty and parkland connections sounds like a relaxing retreat from the big city of London for a different kind of experience at Marriott brand hotels.

Here is Rob’s two part review of The Langley from his June 8-9 stay (see comments).

Nice find, Ric! I see you have a taste for luxury (bargains) as well as for Eastern European beer. 🙂

I already have a res there in August, during a Heathrow transit. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to staying someplace with character, and somewhere other than the high-quality, convenient, but hermetically sealed Sofitel, or the mediocre properties surrounding LHR.
