Stay at any Best Western hotel worldwide from May 20 to September 2, 2019 and you will receive a $20 Best Western travel card for use on another stay within 120 days of travel card issuance (generally 1 to 2 weeks after stay). You must register for this offer prior to your stay.
There is an earning limit of one travel card per member during the promotion. Elite members may get an email offer to earn more Best Western Travel Cards. As a Platinum member I am eligible for two travel cards during this promotion. Frequent Flyer Bonuses mentions up to 10 travel cards for a Best Western Rewards Diamond member.
Main thing to know about a Best Western Travel Card, and one that potentially wipes out much of its $20 value, is you can’t use a Best Western Travel Card on a prepaid advance purchase reservation.
- Travel Cards cannot be applied to pre-paid reservations (see https://www.bestwestern.com/en_US/offers/travel-card.html).
- Redeem within 120 days of card issuance.
- Present card credit at check-in (you will actually receive a code by email and not a physical card).
The other thing to know, especially when using the travel card for a hotel outside the USA and Canada, is you need to present the travel card at check-in. A couple years ago I learned the hard way in Poland when I presented my travel cards at check-out and the manager told me that the 3am local time at Best Western headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona meant they had no way to verify the validity of my travel cards. They were not going to risk being shorted $20, so I ended up not getting to use my travel cards before they expired.
Best Western promotions short timelines for redemption of credits and free nights is a program weakness.
Which reminds me – I better redeem my free night from the last promotion before it expires in 30 days.
Looking forward to sitting on the dock of the Bay wasting time.
