World of Hyatt offers two different opportunities to pick up discount points over the next month. Through June 11 buy World of Hyatt points with 30% bonus points when purchasing 5,000 to 9,000 points ($120-$216 = $18.46/1,000 points) and 40% bonus points when buying 10,000 to 55,000 points ($240-$1,320 = $17.14/1,000 points). Regular purchase price is $24.00 per 1,000 points.
The other opportunity is on Monday, June 3 when World of Hyatt points are featured on U.S. Travel Association’s Daily Getaways.
With a combined total of 229 sets of points available to buy June 3, chances of actually landing on a points purchase page during this sale are less than betting on a 65:1 Kentucky Derby horse winning the race. It can happen, but improbable at these odds. Hyatt points purchases are the most sought after deals of the annual Daily Getaways sales and purchase landing pages typically are gone in the first second of the sale.
June 3, 2019 Daily Getaways World of Hyatt points
- 24,000 points = $260 (120 sets) = $10.83/1,000 points.
- 30,000 points = $330 (54 sets) = $11.00/1,000 points.
- 40,000 points = $415 (30 sets) = $10.38/1,000 points.
- 72,000 points = $775 (25 sets) = $10.76/1,000 points.
The best part is you have the rest of May to figure out how you would use Hyatt points and then go for a Daily Getaways purchase deal on June 3. If you fail to hit a purchase points landing page, then you can decide if buying points at $17.14 per 1,000 points is still a deal for where you want to stay.
I will give Daily Getaways a chance since I think there is real value in Hyatt points at that price, even with no immediate plans to redeem points for a specific property. At $17.14 per 1,000 points I am not a speculatively buyer of Hyatt points for my travel needs.
