Choice Hotels drops out of Portugal

Choice Hotels no longer has any properties in Portugal. This is a recent change as evidenced by the fact that some of the former Choice Hotels in Lisbon and Porto still have some web addresses using Comfort Inn, Quality Inn and Clarion in the site address and the former Choice Hotels brand signage is still seen in some website photos.

Clarion Suites Lisbon is now Legendary Suites Lisbon.

Quality Inn Port is now Legendary Porto Hotel.

Quality Inn Portus Cale, Porto is now Portus Cale Hotel.

Comfort Inn Braga is now Braga Flag Hotel.

Comfort Inn Fafe-Guimares is now Fafe Flag Hotel.

    The close-in Porto property was pretty nice and a great value off-peak. I’m sad to see it go, but glad I was able to stay there once on points.

    The Porto property was nothing special, but was pretty well located and represented a great value on a points stay. Hopefully, Choice will line up some different properties in the future.

    This has been known for a while.

    I’m traveling there late next month. Back in septmber when I was doing bookings it showed but couldn’t get anything for reservations saying it was sold out.
