Choice Hotels returns to the islands of Venice, Italy when Hotel Aquarius Venice opens later in 2019 as an Ascend Collection member located in the Santa Croce sestieri. The boutique hotel will have 28 rooms and 5 apartments.
- Hotel Aquarius Venice (Venice, Italy) – Located in the heart of historic Venice between the Santa Lucia railway station and the Rialto, the Hotel Aquarius Venice will be the first Ascend hotel to debut in Italy when it opens later this year. Each of the hotel’s 28 rooms reflect the city’s aquatic surroundings and rich tradition with warm colors, gilded-metal accents, contemporary furnishings, and locally sourced art and furniture. Comfort Hotel Diana, the last Choice Hotels property located in the islands of Venice left the chain in 2015.
Quality Hotel Delfino Venezia Mestre is the only Venice area hotel currently and located on the mainland in Mestre, 5 miles from the islands of Venice. Quality Hotel has seasonal rates of 20,000 points for April 16-Sep 15, 2019. I suspect Hotel Aquarius will likely have a matching or higher reward rate level, but Choice Privileges seasonal rates do not necessarily follow the logic of more expensive hotels having higher reward rates. We will need to wait and see.
