Radisson Rewards Mystery Bonus Deal offers up to 50% bonus points on purchases from April 1-30, 2019. My offer is 50% bonus points, reducing the purchase price from $7.00 per 1,000 points to $4.67 per 1,000 points.
There is an 80,000 points calendar year purchase limit on Radisson Rewards points. Since bonus points do not count toward the limit, this is an opportunity to buy as many 120,000 points for $560.
Is there any value left in Radisson Rewards points to justify buying points?
While 50% is not as good as the 100% bonus points deal they offered November 2018, I found there is still an opportunity to squeeze a little hotel discount value out of Radisson Rewards points at this 50% bonus points price of $4.67/1,000 points.
Over the past eight years I have redeemed in the upper six figures in Radisson Rewards/Club Carlson points for hotel reward stays, primarily in European cities like Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Oslo, Stockholm and scattered cities around Central Europe and the Baltics. I found good to great value in my points reward stays up until last year’s 2018 and this year’s 2019 hotel category reassignments killed virtually every hotel deal value using Radisson Rewards points I had been getting or anticipating.
For example, I stayed in Business Class rooms at Park Inn Kaunas, Lithuania in 2017 and 2018 with breakfast for 13,500 points per night. A $63 room night at this buy points 50% bonus price of $4.67 per 1,000 would be a deal for Kaunas. That hotel is now 42,000 points for a Business Class premium reward night and no deal at all to pay $196 in points for a reward night at Park Inn Kaunas. Published rates will rarely be that high.
I stayed at Radisson Blu Klaipeda in Lithuania for 15,000 points in 2017 and 22,500 points for a Business Class room last summer. Radison Blu Klaipeda is now 57,000 points for a Business Class Premium room.
100,000 Radisson Rewards points are still sitting in my account to spend, so I am not a buyer of points at this price. However, my research today shows there is still some value to be squeezed out of Radisson Rewards points that can provide more than a 15% discount on flexible room rates at some hotels when paying $4.67 per 1,000 points to buy points during this April 2019 promotion.
Radisson Rewards Points + Cash reward nights
In all the hundreds of thousands of points I redeemed for reward nights over the past eight years I never once booked a Points + Cash reward rate. Turns out that is where I still find an opportunity to squeeze a little more value out of my remaining 100,000 points.
Those Points + Cash reward stay findings are what I will share in my next article. Basically I don’t want that information to get buried in this post title about the Radisson Rewards Mystery Bonus Deal buy points bonus offer.
