TAP Portugal starts nonstop flights June 2019 San Francisco to Lisbon on new A330neo aircraft with a 2-4-2 economy class section. There are currently really great value deals available for one way travel to and from SFO and many cities across Europe for summer season travel with TAP Portugal flights. This is the best economy class fare sale I have seen for summer travel from California to Europe in years.
Flights SFO to Lisbon, Portugal round trip are currently priced at $884 round trip. Tickets to Lisbon as a final destination are not where the flight deals are found on TAP Portugal for summer 2019 travel. The real deals are found on tickets to airports in other countries like Amsterdam, Basel, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, London, Oslo, Prague, Stockholm and Venice pricing from $279 to $307 one way.
There are many routings where a round trip ticket can be purchased for under $600 for travel in June, July and August 2019. A great option I see for my travel is the option to fly one-way SFO to one city and fly back to SFO from an airport in another country booked as two one-way tickets. Some itineraries allow a near 24-hour transit layover in Lisbon.
Although TAP Portugal website states free stopovers are allowed, I have been unable to find a one-way stopover ticket in Lisbon for under $400. Still, an extra $100 for a stopover in London is a decent deal. The best ticket prices are through online travel agency sites like Expedia, Orbitz and Priceline. TAP Portugal website often returns a routing not found message when clicking through Google Flights deep links.
My wife has a planned social event with friends in Prague. Yet, she also wants to spend part of the summer on the Baltic Sea coast of Poland. This has me looking at flying TAP Portugal into Prague and flying back to SFO on TAP Portugal from Berlin, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Oslo or Stockholm for about $600 round trip.

Don’t expect many Star Alliance redeemable miles from these Economy Class O fares. Miles&More is the best frequent flyer program for 25% flight miles on the long haul segment. Most airlines give only 10% if any miles are earned at all.
As I said, this is the best deal I have seen in years for summer travel from California at $579 round trip for an open jaw SFO to Europe round trip.
