Hilton Honors Points Unlimited Jan 4-May 5, 2019

This is a good value promotion for frequent guests with one-night stays. I have been considering a winter trip to Poland where places like Gdansk, Poland have 4 hotels priced around $60 to $80 per night. While my wife hates hotel hopping, I don’t mind one night stays when it is simply a matter of walking ten minutes to another Hilton hotel like switching between Hampton Inn Gdansk Old Town and Hilton Gdansk.

A place like Krakow, Poland has the Hampton Inn Krakow and DoubleTree Krakow adjacent and attached properties where changing is simply a matter of walking through the hotel to the other side for two easy stays in two nights.

$300 in hotel spend for 5 one-night stays would earn about 2,500 base points + 10,000 bonus points for 5 stays (2,000/stay) + 10,000 bonus points for 5 stays or 22,500 points.

I consider the value of Hilton points at $5.00 per 1,000 points to be a reasonable redemption value I can find with Hilton brand hotel reward nights for places I travel. 22,500 points are worth $112.50 in redemption value in my mind. I have my eye on hotels in Romania for summer 2019 where 40,000 points for a 5th night free reward stay buys a $750 stay.

Bottom line is this promotion puts Hilton Honors in serious consideration for my hotel spend over the next few months. A winter trip to a place like Gdansk, Poland or some other city where I can easily hotel hop between low priced Hilton brand hotels is an idea I will explore more over the coming month.

What is the Promotion Period for the “Points Unlimited†Hilton Honors promotion?

January 4, 2019 through May 5, 2019 (‘Promotion Period’)

For every 5th stay or 10th night, a member will be awarded 10,000 Bonus Points.

The 10,000 Bonus Point award can be earned an unlimited number of times. If a member achieves both 5 stays and 10 nights at the same time, the 10,000 Bonus Point award will only be given once.

Can I see examples of how to earn Points with this promotion?

Note: The below examples do not incorporate Base Points, Elite Tier Point Bonuses or Hilton Honors American Express Card Member Bonus Points. Members therefore have the opportunity to earn many more Points per night to count towards future reward stays. More information on tiers and the accrual of Points can be found in the Hilton Honors Terms & Conditions.

Example A: One Hilton Honors member stays 5 times with a total of 8 nights in March.

  • This member earned a total of 20,000 Bonus Points with the promotion.
  • The member earned 10,000 Bonus Points for their 5 stays (2,000 Bonus Points per stay) and received the 10,000 Bonus Point award for achieving 5 stays.

Example B: One Hilton Honors member stays 5 times with a total of 9 nights in March. This same member then stays 2 times with a total of 10 nights in April.

  • This member would have earned a total of 34,000 Bonus Points with the promotion.
  • The member earned 14,000 Bonus Points for their 7 stays (2,000 Bonus Points per stay). The member also received the 10,000 Bonus Point award once for staying 5 times in March and then earned another 10,000 Bonus Point award in April for staying 10 nights.

Example C: One Hilton Honors member stays 3 times with a total of 11 nights in March. This same member then stays 4 times with a total of 9 nights in April.

  • This member would have earned a total of 34,000 Bonus Points with the promotion.
  • The member earned 14,000 Bonus Points for their 7 stays (2,000 Bonus Points per stay). The member also received the 10,000 Bonus Point award once for staying at least 10 nights in March. Since the member had one additional night over the 10 night threshold requirement in March, this extra night was then automatically applied with the 9 nights in April to earn the 10,000 Bonus Point award again.

Example D: One Hilton Honors member stays 1 time with a total of 20 nights in March.

  • This member would have earned a total of 22,000 Bonus Points with the promotion.
  • The member earned 2,000 Bonus Points for their 1 stay (2,000 Bonus Points per stay). Since the member achieved the 10 night threshold twice during their single stay the member will earn the 10,000 Bonus Point award twice for a total of 20,000 Bonus Points.

If my wife and I book alternating nights at a hotel and stay in the same room, will we still get the separate stay credits?

    2k per STAY?

    That is insulting.

  • Ric Garrido December 21, 2018

@asa – I have doen this several times with my wife.

I generally discuss this with the front desk at check-in to request my wife and I are assigned the same room and make clear we will check in and check out each day.

Very important to check out and get your receipt for each night and then other guest check in each day to be sure the room is getting credited properly to each account.

Better safe than learn after a 4-night stay that some other desk clerk combined the reservations.

I have never encountered a hotel that objected to this process.
