Best Western Rewards, Choice Privileges and Wyndham Rewards all share a feature not seen in Hilton Honors, World of Hyatt, IHG Rewards Club and Marriott Rewards – each of these three lower market segment hotel chains have some hotels offering higher category rooms at standard reward rates.
The challenge is finding which hotels offer higher category rooms at standard reward rates. When I search a location for Best Western hotels, I tend to check reward nights for each hotel to see what types of rooms are available using Best Western Rewards points.
Innsbruck, Austria – Hotel Goldener Adler
Best Western Plus Hotel Goldener Adler in Innsbruck, Austria offers a higher category Deluxe room priced 74 EUR ($83 USD) more than the Classic room, yet both room types are available on Feb 18, 2019 in peak ski season as a standard reward night for 32,000 points.
Schaffhausen, Switzerland – Hotel Bahnhof
Best Western Plus Hotel Bahnhof in Schaffhausen, Switzerland offers a junior suite for points with a $70 per night higher room value than the standard room.
Aalst, Belgium – Keizershof Hotel, Best Western Premier
Best Western Premier Keizershof Hotel Deluxe room for 8,000 points is an astounding $35 per 1,000 points redemption value based on July 2019 room rates. Best Western Rewards allows members to buy points at the rate of $10 per 1,000 points when making a reservation and short of points.
These are just a few examples of the kinds of hotel deals that are available with Best Western Rewards points. Most Best Western hotels do not offer significantly higher category rooms for points reward nights. The secret to unlocking higher redemption value with Best Western Rewards is finding hotels among the 4,000 hotels worldwide that offer higher category room types for points.
