Choice Privileges for Australia hotel deals

Airfare from USA to Australia this week offered the lowest ticket prices in years at $580-$640 for round trip travel from major California airports to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Melbourne and Sydney are expensive hotel cities. Average room rate in Sydney is about $250 AUD or over $175 USD. With hotel occupancy in Sydney around 90%, the price of rooms is unlikely to drop and hotel rates are forecast to rise each year through 2025 to $346 AUD ($253 USD).

Choice Hotels has over 200 hotels in Australia. Some of the best value hotel rates you can find are through Choice Privileges reward nights.

This is my second article on Choice Privileges points value for stays around the world.

This 2-bedroom suite can also be booked for 6,000 points + $105 USD per night.

Quality Apartments Camperdown Sydney is a property that does not rate highly on TripAdvisor (#136 of 189 Sydney hotels), so I wouldn’t expect a luxury hotel stay.

$300 to buy 40,000 Choice Privileges points through PointsPlusCash is a significant reduction on the $528 USD room rate for a 2-bedroom suite.
