London London Gatwick LGW Norwegian Air San Francisco SFO

Norwegian SFO-LGW $180ow in July, $475rt August

Norwegian Airlines moves London Gatwick flights from Oakland to San Francisco SFO on Sunday, March 31 with a launch date low fare of $144.90 one way.

This airport change excites me due to San Francisco SFO being a much easier commute for me driving from Monterey. I love Norwegian Airlines, but the biggest drawback for me with Norwegian is their flight times returning to Oakland forced me to drive Interstate 880 at afternoon rush hour through the worst traffic in the Bay Area.

LGW-SFO arrives at 16:30, which is still weeknight rush hour, but Interstate 280 is a far easier and more scenic drive back to Monterey.

July 2019 SFO-LGW $180 one way is a real deal

Tickets to London Gatwick are a real deal at $179.90 one way in July 2019, however, this is only a deal if you have miles for a reward ticket back or some other travel plan besides flying Norwegian back to SFO in July.

If you can travel in August 2019, then Norwegian has good deals for round trip travel to London.

Looks like booking these fares on norwegian.no is yielding a higher fare these days…not sure if it’s an increase in currency value or adjustment by the airline.

And for those who can take the commute, OAK-BCN from $159 in July

@james – I find the lower fare difference on european sites tends to be Europe – USA segment.

I’ll still make the Oakland commute if going somewhere else in Europe is a better travel plan and ticket price is right.

I am still focused on winter and spring travel and not ready to plan summer travel yet.
