Level Airlines, the low cost carrier marketed as Iberia, shifts its nonstop flight to Barcelona from Oakland to San Francisco SFO October 31, 2018 with some introductory low fare deals at $160 one way and $313 round trip for travel from October 31, 2018 through March 2019.
Lowest ticket prices are Wednesday and Saturday flights.
Bag fees are $44 each way for one checked bag and seat assignment is $33 each way for a window or aisle seat. https://www.flylevel.com/en/about-us/optional-extras.
The real deal with LEVEL is the opportunity for a true low cost ticket if you can travel with only a carry-on bag and accept a random seat assignment at check-in. This is how I fly most low cost carrier flights and I generally do not end up in a middle seat for the long-haul to or from Europe. My favorite words on a flight are “Boarding completed” which is my cue to make a quick seat change to a more desirable location on the aircraft.
Level started Oakland-Barcelona service in June 2017. I flew one way to Barcelona last June for $149. Kelley and I got by without buying pre-selected seats and ultimately ended up with a 4-seat middle section in the back of the plane to ourselves.
Level has offered several fare deals to Spain in the $300s round trip over the past year from Oakland and LAX.
