Radisson Rewards Dream Deals Promotion Analysis

One of the aspects I do not like about Radisson Rewards recent promotions is the restricted advance purchase booking window. I rarely book prepaid rates. Setting a deadline to qualify for a promotion is of no value to me unless I happen to be planning and ready to pay for my travel during that time period.

I wanted to book some hotel stays in Europe this month for June stays. I tuned out Radisson Rewards hotel brands due to no promotion bonus points. I missed the April 30 booking deadline to earn bonus points from their current Radisson Rewards promotion for up to 120,000 bonus points.

I am in luck since I will be passing through a few cities in Europe this summer where I found Park Inn and Radisson hotels pricing at some of the most competitive rates.

Radisson Rewards keeps me coming back with decent promotions.

I definitely have one Park Inn hotel in mind for a city I want to visit during a festival weekend. Room rates are still reasonable today. I am waiting in anticipation to see how hotel room rates look on May 30 compared to rates I see now for this Park Inn in a European city with only a Marriott brand hotel as another major chain option. A nonrefundable deal may be sealed if the price is right.

Radisson Rewards 5,000 bonus points = $20 future value

5,000 bonus points (worth about $20) is a factor to consider in whether to book the Park Inn I have my eye on for summer. My travel advantage is I know what the rate is today for this Park Inn, so I will know exactly how much the hotel is discounted on May 30 compared to today. I hope the room rate drops from $133 to $94 per night based on my 30% off estimate.

I give Radisson Rewards points $3.50 to $4.00 per 1,000 points value.

That is a low valuation compared to my average redemption value for Radisson Rewards points.

This summer I booked three hotel reward stays in Europe for 152,000 Radisson Rewards points. 152K is equivalent to $532 to $608 worth of points, if valued at $3.50 to $4 per 1,000 points.

Lowest flexible room rates for my three reward stays priced around $1,100 for same hotel rooms on same dates at time I booked. Rock-bottom room rates were around $900 for prepaid, nonrefundable rates. Good Radisson Rewards points redemption value shaped my travel plans for summer 2018 as I visit 6 or 7 countries in Europe.

Watch for Radisson Rewards buy points sales for periodic $4.00 per 1,000 points promotions

Radisson Rewards points are sold periodically for $4.00 per 1,000 points. There have been past sales in past years at $3.50 per 1,000 points.

Assume 5,000 Radisson Rewards bonus points are about $20 value, then several 1-night stays this summer rack up lots of bonus points at 5,000 bonus points per stay. This looks like a good opportunity to pick up 20,000 or 25,000 points with 4 or 5 different stays.

At $80 to $100 per night at inexpensive hotels might only cost $400 to pick up 20,000 to 25,000 bonus points + 6,000 or more regular points for hotel base spend.

26,000 to 32,000 Radisson Rewards points for 4 or 5 stays = $91-$128 rebate in points value on $400 in hotel spend.

Radisson Rewards category 2 hotels are 15,000 points per night and category 3 hotels are 28,000 points.

Real Deal: Spend $400 this summer on prepaid rates.

26,000 to 30,000 points earned from $400 in hotel spend this summer on 4 or 5 hotel stays worth potentially $150 to $200 per night in future reward stays for several category 2 and category 3 hotels in Europe and other places.

Pay for 4 or 5 hotel nights in summer 2018 and earn one or two free hotel reward nights at category 2 and category 3 hotels.

Park Inn and Radisson hotels happen to be in some central Europe cities I will be passing through in summer 2018. My hotel reward stays for Iceland and Lithuania ate up all my points for summer 2018 travel.

Radisson Rewards Dream Deals is a promotion where I see an opportunity for me to earn 20,000 to 30,000 points for my account while staying in hotels where I already planned to be in Europe for cities offering few major chain hotels to leverage the value between earning and burning loyalty points.
